WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Work with the Directors and other Managers to take ownership of all operational elements of the shop. That’s everything retail, and the booking side of the surf school. It’s a big job with huge potential to put your stamp on it.

Be the first port of call for every customer who walks in the door. You’ve got The Knowledge and if it’s not you, you’ve made sure that someone on your team is briefed and has it covered.

Be the eyes and ears on the ground. You’ll communicate frequently with the Beach Manager to ensure the surf school check in process runs like a well oiled machine between Narosa HQ and the beach. 

Keep a close eye on what’s selling. You’ll work with our Designer, and liaise with suppliers to ensure we’ve got what we need, when we need it. If that means 101 phone calls to couriers, you’ll be on it. The stockroom will be your domain and your stock checks will be on point. Colour coding welcomed.

Have the visuals in check. Your space looks immaculate at all times, so when customers walk in they’re blown away. We’re talking everything from overseeing the daily cleaning, to frequent stock top-ups and remerchandising.

Leave no stone unturned. You’ll remember all those finer details and make sure all systems are seamless. No customer email or phone call goes unanswered under your watch. 

Be a leader. You’ll set an example for the guys in your team by having the non-negotiables nailed. Punctual, well presented, reliable and organised are all part of the tone that the shop team sets. 

Be a master of information. You’ll be using our booking software to manage bookings and collate information on lessons. You’ll also be creating a fleet of spreadsheets to cover all eventualities and be concise when it comes to presenting information. You’ll be expected to deliver daily briefs to your team, and present to the rest of the Narosa team weekly.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Report to the Shop Manager, taking ownership of your assigned tasks in the shop. You’re part of the busy team in charge of surf school bookings, check ins, and everything retail.

Be the first port of call for every customer who walks in the door. You’re warm, welcoming and always wearing a smile, developing relationships with our regulars.

Have the visuals in check. The space looks immaculate at all times, so when customers walk in they’re blown away. We’re talking everything from the daily cleaning of the shop and customer bathrooms, to hoodie folding and stock tidying.

You’re a source of knowledge. You take the time to learn the products we sell including technical gear like wetsuits and surfboard accessories. You rep our apparel and are a keen advocate of the Narosa brand.

You’ll know our surf lessons inside out and are handy at answering customer questions, advising them on what to book. You’ll also be a key part of check ins and will size up customers for wetsuits, and direct them to the beach.

  • You have previous experience working as a barista. You’re absolutely solid when it comes to consistently making awesome coffee.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Arguably the most important role in the entire company, you’ll keep the customers sweet, and the bosses sweeter, by consistently delivering perfect coffee after perfect coffee in our coffee pop up, Captain’s at Narosa. 

Have an impeccable taste for speciality coffee and blends. You’ll be the expert when it comes to all things grinding, extracting and frothing. 

Be the first port of call for every customer who arrives into Captains at Narosa. You’re warm and welcoming, and have no problem building a following of regulars. 

Have the visuals in check. Your space looks immaculate at all times, so when customers walk in they’re blown away. We’re talking everything from executing daily cleaning tasks in line with H&S standards, to frequent stock top-ups and deep cleans of the space.

Keep a close eye on what’s selling. You’ll liaise with suppliers to ensure we’ve got what we need, when we need it. If that means 101 phone calls to couriers, you’ll be on it. The stock will be your domain and your stock checks will be on point. Colour coding welcomed.

Take charge of the cash. You’ll be responsible for your own float and use our POS system. 

Have the non-negotiables nailed. Punctual, well presented, reliable and organised are all part of the tone that the Barista sets.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

  • You have your ISA Level 1 or above, and lifeguard qualifications.
  • You have experience working in outdoor pursuits and ideally you’ve managed a team before.
  • You’re solid when it comes to surfing. You don’t have to be a pro but you consistently catch waves and are well on your way to Level 4. 
  • You have high energy levels and a positive outlook on life. We love to see those good vibes!
  • You execute and get things done.
  • You’re cool as a cucumber under pressure.
  • You’re independent and take ownership of your responsibilities and tasks.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Have eyes glued to the surf forecast. Ability to anticipate surf conditions with tide, wind and swell changes becomes second nature to you. One day out, one week out, two weeks out, you’ll be the one who knows what’s happening in the ocean, and be able to apply it to the lesson schedule and logistics. 

Be a leader. You’ll set an example for the guys in your team by having the non-negotiables nailed. Punctual, well presented, reliable and organised are all part of the tone that the beach team sets. You’ll earn the respect of your team by delegating smartly, and grafting where needed. 

Have your equipment in check. Your gear looks immaculate at all times, so when customers arrive at the beach they’re blown away. We’re talking everything from overseeing the daily wetsuit cleaning, to organising board repairs and van maintenance. 

Be a master of information. You’ll be using our booking software remotely to manage bookings and collate information on lessons. You’ll be expected to deliver daily briefs to your team, and present to the rest of the Narosa team weekly. 

Show people an awesome time. You’ll be enthusiastic, energetic and knowledgeable, to ensure that customers leave the beach more in love with surfing than when they arrived. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Have your equipment in check. Your gear looks immaculate at all times, so when customers arrive at the beach they’re blown away. We’re talking everything from daily wetsuit cleaning and board repairs to general equipment maintenance. 

Show people an awesome time. You’ll be enthusiastic, energetic and knowledgeable, to ensure that customers leave the beach more in love with surfing than when they arrived.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

  • You’re handy with a variety of cameras to capture action wherever it’s happening: Go Pro, DSLR and the trusty camera phone. Ideally you have your own gear but it’s not essential. If you can also pilot a Drone that’s even better.
  • You know social media inside out: Instagram, Facebook, Youtube & TikTok are all second nature to you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Report to the Directors & Designer, and take ownership of generating epic content for our social media channels and website.


Never without a camera in hand, you’re constantly seeking out and capturing those key moments really telling the story of our brand. Whether it’s documenting a surf lesson at the beach, filming behind the scenes or photographing content for our website, you’re there and you’re on it!

You’ll have your finger on the pulse with the latest social media trends, and be responsible for creating social media plans, in line with Director briefs.

You’ll be a creative genius, with a knack for new ideas, and you’ll be comfortable presenting to the rest of the Narosa team weekly.

You’ll be comfortable forming links with other brands and businesses in the surf & wellness space to help grow our network, and support the Director’s goals.

You’re adept and efficient at editing your content in line with our Designer’s briefs so that the style is recognisably Narosa.

You’ll work to targets and generate sales and engagement on key products like our accommodation and packages.
